The TDI Intro to Cave Diver course at Squalo Divers equips you with the essential skills to safely explore the cave environment while staying within the main line. It’s the natural progression after Cavern Diver, bridging the gap toward advanced cave certifications.

What Will You Learn in the TDI Intro to Cave Course?

• Guideline Techniques: Primary reel deployment, tie-offs, transitions, and main line discipline.

• Buoyancy & Propulsion: Master frog kick, back kick, and helicopter turns to minimize silt disturbance.

Course Structure

• Duration: 2–3 days
• Training: Typically 4–6 dives in cenotes with progressive skill development
• Ratios: Small groups, 2–3 students per instructor

Prerequisites

• Certification: TDI Cavern Diver (or equivalent)
• Age: Minimum 18 years old
• Experience: At least 25 logged dives, strong buoyancy and trim control
• Equipment: Double tanks or sidemount with redundancy, three lights, primary reel and spool, two cutting devices, dive computer/timer, backup mask recommended

Certification and Limits

Upon certification you will be qualified to:

• Dive caves while staying on the main line
• Conduct penetrations limited by conservative gas rules (no stage cylinders, no decompression)
• Maintain depth limits as defined by prior certifications and TDI standards
